Our last touring caravan holiday was when our kids were teenagers, and though we had a lovely break, it wasn’t quite the same as when they were younger. We began to think, “Maybe we should sell the caravan.” But then an idea popped into our heads: “What if we rented it out to someone else?” A quick search on Google led us to Camplify, and after doing a bit more research, we decided to give it a go and start a small business. How We’ve Made It Work

We decided to go for it, but with one key decision: instead of just renting out our caravan for someone else to tow, we would take it to the site of choice ourselves. We then set up the caravan and awning. Both of us work full-time, so we make it fit around our schedules, typically using some of our holiday time or weekends to deliver and set up the caravan.

The best part? As mentioned previously we didn’t spend a fortune on the caravan. We bought it for around £6,000, and it has already paid for itself four times over. We’ve been with Camplify for nearly four years now, and the extra income has been invaluable. It’s helped us pay off the mortgage a bit faster and made student finance a little easier to manage — especially since maintenance loans don’t always cover all the costs. Plus, we’ve been able to treat ourselves to a few more holidays! Renting out the caravan has given us more flexibility in our own travel plans, making it a win-win all round.
